A discussion group regarding some of the philosophers who shaped our current political system and their ideas.

Currently, the group is analysing the book entitled "Justice; What's the right thing to do?" by Michael J. Sandel
 

SICM Sports Club

Sports is temporarily taking place at Vale Farm Sports Centre.

Football takes place on Saturdays on astro-turf for brothers only from 19:00-20:00. Cost is £2 per person payable to BWF.

SICM also books badminton courts for ladies only between 19:00-20:00. Cost for this is also £2 per person payable to BWF.

There is also ladies only swimming on Saturdays from 18:00-20:00 with a female lifeguard organised by the sports centre. The cost for this is £3.25 per person payable directly to the sports centre.

There is no age limit. All events are held at Vale Farm Sports Centre, Wembley, HA0 3HG.

We are pleased to inform you that SICM has established its own sports club and hereby invite you to join the club which will officially started on Saturday 4 Ramadhan 1418 (3 January 1998). We have hired William Penn Leisure Centre, Rickmansworth for our use on Saturday evenings from 6.30 pm to 7.30 pm . If you wish to join the club, please print out and complete the online membership form and return it with the appropriate fee as soon as possible. If you need any help in completing the form, please speak to anyone in the sports committee.

We set out below some information relating to the Club.

1. OBJECTS

The objects of the Club are to :-

  • Promote a variety of sports at all levels
  • Provide playing facilities
  • Provide coaching to youngsters
  • Arrange tournaments and competitions
  • Enable the youth to make friends and mix socially
  • Enable families to get together to create new friendships.
  • Strive to create a healthy community.

2. ADULT VOLUNTEERS

It is very much hoped that adult members will spare some of their sports time for coaching and supervising the Juniors on a rota basis. If you wish to assist, please let us have your name and availability times as soon as possible.

3. SPORTS COMMITTEE

Workout Classes

Impulse Fitness Suite - There is an induction fee of £18.00, but if you are a member it will only cost you £15.00.

Cardio Theatre - This exciting new fitness development will be launched in 1998.

Sports Hall - Used for various activities such as badminton, volleyball, basketball and football.

Squash courts - There are two glass fronted squash courts.

Outdoor Multi-Sports - Tarmaced facilities for 5'a' side football and tennis.

Swimming Pool - 25 metres long, indoor.

Palms Health Suite - With a sauna, steam room and spa bath to enjoy, you can unwind, relax and pamper yourself in comfort.

Soft Play Area - A free fun filled activity centre, due to be launched in 1998.

Cafeteria - Enjoy a drink or a bite to eat in the cafeteria and relax after your activity. A wide variety of meals and snacks are available and served throughout the day.

Disabled Customers - Provisions for disabled customers has been made at the centre with ramps, stair lift and pool hoist. Disabled parking is also available.

Car Parking - Ample parking is available opposite the centre.

MEMBERSHIP

Rules:

  • Membership cards must be shown on every visit to the centre. Failure to do so may result in non member fees being charged.
  • Members agree to abide by the operational practices of the centre and to heed the reasonable requests of the centre staff.
  • Children swimming under the age of eight must be accompanied in the water by an adult.
  • A fee of £5.00 is payable for the replacement of lost or damaged cards.
  • Failure to comply with any of the conditions stated may result in the withdrawal of membership. No refunds will be made for any time outstanding.

Please note: Conditions of membership may be subject to change at any time.

Members shall receive a membership card from SICM and from the William Penn Centre. This will make them a member of SICM's membership with the centre and a member of William Penn.
